"In this lifetime there are things you want to say and things you can’t or won’t, people who stay and people who can’t and then those who don't.

There are times you wish you did things differently and times you don't carry any regrets of what’s been done, there are choices you make, or are obligated to take, and then there are certain decisions you won't take, there are times you are in crossroads when heaps of decisions create a dilemma in your mind.

there are times you hold on to things, not wanting to let go carrying a fear of it distinguishing from your memory, and times where you are coerced to let go only leaving the footprints as time keeps flying into another lifetime."

In another lifetime I would’ve loved to have met you earlier

Probably when I was younger when my hair was straighter

We could’ve grown up together and you would learn what made me who I am,

We could’ve grown up together and I would understand how to make you feel heard, seen

In another lifetime I would’ve loved to have seen each other go through all the phases

Together we would’ve fallen and risen from mazes

You would’ve seen the writer in me before she was known

I’d support you through your 13, 16, 18, 21, and all other milestones

In another lifetime I would’ve loved to have gone on adventurous trips to castles with you

We would’ve comforted each other through our very first heartbreaks

I would‘ve taught you to love, is also to grieve

You’d tell me that no matter how big the grief in my chest, I’ll always find a way to breathe

In another lifetime, I would’ve loved to have met you earlier

The first thing I’d tell you is that my favorite part of going to the movies is the trailers

you’d tell me how you got that scar near your eyes

We’d unravel our truths between sips of wine

But would we have stuck around and found the versions of each other that we did?

Would we have understood each other if we met as kids?

Would we have been able to communicate our lost words with one another?

Would we have known the beauty that lay after the pain?

In another lifetime I would’ve loved to have seen the world with you

We would hide away from it and find solitude together

I would tell you I used to catch sunsets and wish among the stars, I’d tell you why I stopped to do so,

You would tell me of the colors of your mind, from the reds and the blues and everything in between.

In another lifetime, I would have loved to fold the blankets together and learn a new language late at night,

We would’ve watched each other’s dreams grow

With each neat crease, we’d fold into pieces of ourselves

And tuck away conversations in between the books on our bookshelves

In another lifetime I would’ve loved to be comforted each time I wrapped that blanket around me

Those tucked-away conversations would years later bring at least a veneer of peace

We would each carry our notes around in our wallets from when we first met

A reminder that even though everything changes, some things are still the same

In another lifetime, I would have loved to have nights where we don’t sleep

I would tell you of my hopes, you would tell me your dreams

We would show each other our caches of all the suffering and joy we’ve been through

We would’ve never had to wonder what could have been

But that later never comes. Later is often twisted to turn out to be a little too late.

Some things are meant to be and some aren’t by fate

In another life, I would’ve loved for those moments to have been you and me,

In another life, I wonder if we would’ve been meant to be.

Hi, Thanks for stopping by!

Hello and welcome to The Art of Words. The idea behind this blog runs a long line of documenting my journey the experiences I gained so far, and turning them into writing. A fast-paced world, a girl with hopes and dreams, and a site that documents it all - the good, the bad, the messy, and a bit of everything in between.

Let the posts come to you.
